Another week has flown by, a lot more weeds have been removed and even more deadheading has been done. With all the rain we have had, I’ve been spared watering as well, but seeing the forecast for the next week, I’ll have to put that back on my list. In the meantime, lets see what has been happening during this last week.

Clematis.

Prince Charles is looking gorgeous at the moment, or at least his Clematis is!

Maybe it ought to be renamed now he is King, but whatever its name, it is a lovely flower of a beautiful pale blue.

I think I maybe forgot to prune it in Feb/March so it is flowering early and had jumped from one side of the path to the huge gas tank, to the other side. I must sort it out before the gas man comes to top it up as I don’t think he’ll be able to get through.

Rambling Rose.

Rosa Mulligani is my other huge rose climbing up to the top of my dead oak tree. There are always birds investigating in the branches and this is where my Tawny owl sits to call to me at night time!

There was alovely perfume wafting around here when I came to take a close up of the flowers, hard to describe though.

Hemerocallis.

H. Stafford is my first Day Lily to flower this summer, it was bought many years ago because my parents used to live for a while in Stafford.

Buddleia.

The Buddlias are starting to flower, so the butterflies will be pleased that there is plenty of food on offer here.

Trachelospermum asiaticum

Trachelospermum asiaticum is another plant that stops me in my tracks as I’m rushing by, the perfume is really amazing. This is climbing up the pergola at the top of the garden.

Meadow.

The meadow has reached its peak, I think, flowers have come and gone, the orchid is past its best now, so I’m having to think of what I can plant to give interest for later.

Butterfly.

I spotted a Silver Washed Fritillary butterfly a couple of days ago, fluttering among the ivy. If you look closely you will see that there is something not right with the left wing.

Poor thing didn’t seem able to fly properly but later I found that it was missing so hopefully it had found somewhere to hide and be safe. Lovely butterfly.

There we have my six plus butterfly, couldn’t leave it out, the garden is at its most colourful at the moment with flowers everywhere for the bees and butterflies to enjoy as well as me!

If you want to see flowers from around the world, then pop over to Jim’s to see more offerings at Garden Ruminations.

The Silver Washed Fritillary is a beauty. I have the white Trachelospermum but I prefer the creamy yellow of yours. Prince Charles Obstructs Gas Man would make a good headline.

I can see the headlines now Graeme, Prince Charles Strangles Gas Man! I must get it cut back.We seem to have the Silver Washed Fritillary here each year, don’t know what it is in the garden that they like, but it is a very welcome visitor.

I love these fritillaries! I saw lots of them in Switzerland, but have not seen them in our area yet.
That looks like a really nice flower meadow with lots of places for small animals to hide. Our tiny one is also starting to look really good, though it has taken a while.
