Not me, when I have got this fellow to wake me up each morning ! He has taken to roosting overnight in our garden in one of our old oak trees, he must feel safe up there from the foxes. Foxes, like us are partial to a bit of pheasant !
Depending on the weather and if the clouds are covering the sunrise or not, he starts squawking and flapping his wings any time from 4.30 am onwards. If it is a dull morning it can be as late as 6 am before he starts, thank goodness ! After he first wakes me up I turn over and try to doze off again, just for him to squawk again and so it goes on until I can’t stand any more and I get up – my husband – he sleeps through it all !!
I suppose I ought to be grateful because when I am up so early, this is when I get my blogging done, before it is time to get breakfast and start the day.
Just thought I would share this with you, what gets you up in the morning ?
Nothing so romantic as a pheasant! On work days I wake up to an alarm clock at 5AM. I am not an early riser by nature, which is a bad thing for a gardener. If I’m not working I will sleep till I wake up according to my natural biorhythms. That is usually somewhere around 8AM, and I don’t think a pheasant could rouse me earlier!
Romantic , I don’t think that was my thought !! Poor you having to wake up at 5 am every day to go to work, maybe the pheasant isn’t so bad after all.
