Flying Colours

While walking round the garden on sunny days, the flower beds are alive with bees and butterflies, adding their colour and movement to the flowers swaying backwards and forwards in the breeze.

Butterflies and Bees

Earlier in the year we had Orange Tip butterflies fluttering around, now it’s the turn of Red Admiral, Comma, Silver Washed Fritillary, Peacock, Speckled Wood, Brimstone and Holly Blue.

We havn’t seen any Painted Ladies yet this year or  Tortoiseshells but there is still plenty of time. Bees and hoverflies are much in evidence — lots of white tailed Bumble bees buzzing in and out of flowers and worker honey bees flying away laden with pollen – the garden is such a busy colourful place to be.
