Happy St. David’s Day to you all, today, March 1st is St. David’s Day and the national emblem for Wales is the daffodil. At the moment there are a few different daffodils flowering in the garden, I thought I would show you some along with other flowers that are joining in at the moment.
Some were planted so long ago, I’ve forgotten which varieties they are.
Narcissus pseudonarcissus, spreading nicelyby seed, in the woodland.
What is sold today as King Alfred. All the original bulbs got a virus, so the ones sold today aren’t exactly the same. These were put in by the previous people who lived here, I have given most of them away as I prefer the smaller ones. I think maybe these can stay.
We are being told that the weather for February has been the warmest since records began back in the 19 centuary. I wonder what the weather in March will bring, I hope it won’t be anything like last year when we were under about 10 inches of snow!
Happy St. David’s Day to you all!
